Steven Coward, ND
Dr. Coward specializes in the treatment of serious, complex and chronic diseases. For over eight years, he has helped hundreds of patients in western North Carolina, the southeast and beyond recover from diseases considered incurable by conventional standards.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Coward enjoys speaking and writing and has presented homeopathic lectures at medical conferences and naturopathic medical schools, and locally to holistic health programs and numerous other groups. He is a regular contributor to the National Center for Homeopathy’s magazine Homeopathy Today and his local newspaper, the Asheville Citizen-Times.
After leaving a financial career in medical insurance, Dr. Coward earned his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. His passion for homeopathy began during his naturopathic medical training as he saw patients improve with homeopathy who had not responded to any other therapy. Dr. Coward devotes himself to studying and perfecting the practice of homeopathy. He has studied and practiced with some of the most prominent homeopaths in North America.
Dr. Coward is licensed in the state of Vermont, as North Carolina does not currently have licensing standards for naturopathic doctors. He is past President and current Secretary of the North Carolina Association of Naturopathic Physicians, promoting the growth of the naturopathic medical profession and passage of a North Carolina law licensing naturopathic physicians.
Prior to attending naturopathic medical school, Dr. Coward earned a BS and MBA from the University of Buffalo. He is married and shares the care of his two children.
