Dr. Hughes is an avid cyclist, trail runner, and yoga student. She enjoys working with athletes and active individuals, such as runners, cyclists, hikers, dancers, and other sports enthusiasts. She has worked with Dr. Ray McClanahan, a renowned sports podiatrist and natural foot health expert based in Portland, Oregon (nwfootankle.com). From him, she learned natural, non-invasive treatment approaches to lower extremity problems.

A Colorado native, Dr. Hughes is a graduate of Indiana University. She earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, OR—one of the top accredited schools in the country for naturopathic medicine. Her training involved a rigorous 5-year course of study that included all basic medical sciences and conventional diagnostics along with coursework in botanical medicine, nutrition, physical medicine, and minor surgery.
